Welcome to the Scottsdale Real Estate Blog
I am very happy (and a bit surprised) that you’ve found the Scottsdale Real Estate Blog. To kick things off, I thought I’d highlight some of the key features you will find on the blog, and discuss a bit about the purpose of the blog.
First, an introduction. I am Steve Belt, a real estate agent with Realty Executives. I’m also a Scottsdale resident, living in McDowell Mountain Ranch, and have lived in McDowell Mountain Ranch for 10 years, spanning 3 homes, and even a short stint in the Dakota Apartments.
Accordingly, I have watched the development of MMR, along with DC Ranch, Silverleaf, and now Windgate Ranch with both a personal and professional interest these last 10+ years. I’ve seen nearly all of the models, toured all of the communities, and as a REALTOR shown and sold many homes in the area.
Getting to the purpose of this blog, I plan to write about what’s going on locally, both with regard to real estate news, and just other news of importance, right here along Thompson Peak Parkway from the canal north to Pima. Whether its a happening at Copper Ridge or Desert Canyon, or the status of Windgate Ranch construction by Toll Brothers, the development of the Sonoran Preserve, or even a new Starbucks (wouldn’t that be nice…right across from the Village?), there’s a good chance I’ll write about it here.
To get around the blog, I hope I’ve made navigation simple. You can find the main menu at the top left, next to a photograph of Thompson Peak I took from the roof of my office. The About page will list much of what you see here in this post, and provide some extra information about me personally. The Contact page can be used to contact me. The Archives page will allow you to browse and find every post I ever write. Speaking of which, if you want to dig up old news, but aren’t sure where to find it, you can search from the search field in the sky, and any post that matches will display. As well, the Search Scottsdale MLS page will allow you to search the entire MLS for homes for sale or rent. You won’t be limited to searching in Scottsdale either, we all know that’s where we will be looking. To narrow the search down, there is a subdivision field I highly recommend you use to find homes specific to DC Ranch, Silverleaf, McDowell Mountain Ranch, and/or Windgate Ranch.
Finally, if you think you might be interested in reading the blog on a consistent basis, I encourage you to consider subscribing. You can subscribe by email, and if you do that, you’ll get every post sent to your email address. Or you can subscribe by feed reader. If you know what a feed reader is, I don’t need to explain, and if you don’t know what a feed reader is, subscribing via email probably makes the most sense.

Steve,
Considering where you call home, it’s definitely time for you to create this blog. Will be good to hear more from you.

I was one of the eager Worldpress students sitting in on Steve’s class. An excellent jam packed presentation, full useful information presented in a casual, nicely paced format. Steve made setting up his “Scottsdale Real Estate Blog” look simple and encouraged each beginner blogger to jump in with both feet!!!!!!! Here I go Steve! We will see what type of student I am since I had such an excellent instructor! Thank you for taking the time and sharing with us. Lunch at Julio G’s was awesome too!

@Nick, @Dru - Thanks you both.
@Gay - I have no doubt you’ll be a rising star in the epicenter of the real estate blogging universe before we know it. And yes, lunch was awesome. I may pick your brain more regarding some of your additional short sale experience. You know…as trade for services already rendered!

Blogging universe is right! My head is swirling! I checked out my webpage because I thought I remembered doing/hearing something about this “blogging thing”. Low and behold! I have a blog - have no idea how to get it out into the real “Blog” world - I have blogged on it once - a cut and paste of a really nice mortgage article I had read. Now I have a better idea of what is going on, thanks you the help I received today! Thanks. Ready to chat anytime on the shortsale world - it can be brutal and it takes no prisoners!

That’s weird? Why is Sami’s avatar showing up as mine? Could it be the url? Let me try to change the name, email and website to see if my avatar changes.

Hey Rudy - the MyBlogLog Avatar plugin picks up the “primary” of the URL. Happens to Francy and me all the time.. The use of “Gravatars” picks up from the email address. But I think a lot more people have a MBL avatar than a Gravatar avatar.
DO I win a prize for most variations of the word “avatar” in one comment?

Another. Great. Arizona. Blog. Adding it to my reader now… Keep up the good work!

@Dave - Thank you.
@Rudy - I believe Jay has it correct that Gravatars are based on the URL, not the email addy, which is how MyBlogLog does it. To be honest, I prefer the URL method over email addy. And while Gravatars aren’t as widely set up today, I suspect that will grow more and more as you see them used as a standard feature of WP 2.5+ themed sites.
@Christoph - I’m amazed and appreciative of the support so far. Time to write something worthy of the support, I think.
@Justin - Thank you.
