Does Scottsdale Suck?
Before I get to the question in the headline, I’d like to share that I will endeavor to keep the language on my blog at a G rating. There are times, however, when it makes sense to diverge, and today is one of those times.
So, to the question at hand, “Does Scottsdale Suck?” I live in Scottsdale, and I enjoy living in Scottsdale. I enjoy the recreation, the restaurants, the shopping, the arts district, my neighbors, and many, many other aspects of living in Scottsdale. Is the city perfect? Not hardly. But does it Suck? In my opinion, no it does not suck.
There’s a former Scottsdale resident, however, that absolutely thinks Scottsdale Sucks. He’s dedicated an entire blog to writing about it. He discusses the Scottsdale housing bubble and mortgage problems, in ways he sees are specific to Scottsdale. He frequently points out various crimes that have occurred in Scottsdale. He discusses his view of the political landscape in Scottsdale. He makes broad generalizations about the people that live in the city of Scottsdale. He frequently compares the people and the night life to where he lives now (Orange County), which in his opinion are vastly superior.
Here’s the sub-headline from his blog, which describes the purpose of the blog:
Exposing the Land of the Fake, Pretentious, Plastic and Phony, America’s Snake Pit, the land of Shysters and Con Artists, with your host, #1 bestselling author and former Scottsdale resident Frank Rumbauskas
*I’ve intentionally left “bestselling” misspelled.
Why would I link to and describe such a blog? There’s an old saying, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”. Actually, to call Frank an enemy would be woefully inaccurate. Rather, he shares a nearly 100% contrarian view to my own, which is the reason to mention him. I would like every one of my reader’s to know, if you think I’ve turned overly Scottsdale Fan-Boy on you, here’s a place you can visit to see an opposing view.
I’ll be honest and frank about the news and discussion I’ll be bringing to this blog: It’s going to be positive. It will always be truthful and factual. I’ll share my personal opinion, and disclose it as such, but in large part my style is to let the facts speak for themselves, so that you can draw your own conclusions. That said, I’m always open to criticism, and you should feel free to leave a comment any time it suits you, with your opinion about something I’ve written, even if it differs from my own.

I just found http://www.scottsdaleactivist.com/
” The Scottsdale Activist will not publish allegations, libelous statements, profanity, or personal attacks without a verifiable basis”.
This is just below the header graphic of this website and I am sure this will also make an interesting read.
